Ira Smith earns collegiate athletic conference honor.
Upon their 50th anniversary, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced the 50 top athletes selected by over 3,100 fans, media representatives, sports information professionals and others to the conference’s All-Time Baseball Team. Among the esteemed honorees is Crossroads Athletics Director Ira Smith.

An alumnus of University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Ira—called “Dude” by his teammates and fans—was inducted into the MEAC Hall of Fame in 2010 with a career batting average of .431; he remains the conference’s all-time leader to this day. Ira also holds the sixth best season batting average (.519) in NCAA history.
