Security Guard

Status: Part time
Reports to: Juan Molina

Position Overview:
To proactively protect all school assets, to identify and report suspicious activity or potential threats, serve as a visible deterrent to crime, and be responsible for the overall safety and security of the school.  To provide safe movement to and from school when crossing public roadways and intersections by observing gaps in the traffic and leading pedestrians across the roadway or intersection.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Must display excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain, or heat. 
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Must be able to handle pressure of working with a high volume of people.
  • Must wear uniform (provided by Crossroads) at all times and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Must have and maintain a reliable method of communication
  • Must have reliable means of transportation to and from job site
 
Required Qualifications: (Skills, experience, education/certification, etc.)
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess and maintain a current California Guard License with the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services as a condition of employment.
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and be insurable by school’s insurance.
 
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk constantly (for up to an entire shift).
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ramps occasionally during the shift.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to run from one campus to the other to respond to any emergency as needed.
