Varsity Baseball beat Brentwood 9-2.

Congrats to the boys on improving to 8 and 0 on the Season after defeating Brentwood 9-2. Friday’s game versus Brentwood I believe was our best game yet as the team really dominated the game from start to finish. Starting with our pitching with Leo, who improved to 3-0 and earning his first MaxPreps MVP of the season. Leo was absolutely outstanding on the mound holding Brentwood to 1 earned run in 5 innings, while striking out 5. Max came in and pitched 2 solid innings, striking out 4 and securing the 9-2 victory. The defense behind Leo and Max was very solid once again especially Myles diving catch in Center. Ben continues to play an outstanding first-base, making two tough plays when he had to go high for a thrown ball while keeping his foot on the base and then somehow Ben cleanly caught a very tough short hop throw to him on a drop 3rd strike. Jeremy really played a very solid shortstop getting a lot of tough plays at shortstop and keeping the Brentwood runners off the base paths. Andrew, battling a cold absolutely gutted out another solid performance behind the plate, blocking everything, with another game with no wild pitches allowed.

The offense was extremely productive racking up 13 hits including 11 hits off of the 6’9” Brentwood Pitcher, which the Brentwood coaches never expected. By the big kids last inning of pitching the coaches had completely stopped calling for the fastball and started calling all breaking balls. Myles big Home Run in the 3rd got the lead for good and the team never looked back after that. Myles ended up scoring 4 times in the contest and also had 4 stolen bases to give Myles a Golden Coast league leading 12 stolen bases on the year. Kal had a big day at the plate and was 3 for 5, with 2 runs and an RBI. Max got his bat back on track going 3 for 3, with a run and 4 very important RBI’s. Zane, Andrew, Declan and Gus all contributed to the offense and got nice hits and it wouldn’t be a Crossroads game without Ben getting an important line drive base hit and RBI.
