Varsity Baseball beat Bishop Diego 4-3

On Tuesday, Crossroads won 4 to 3 in an extra innings affair against a very tough undefeated Bishop Diego team. Jeremy Fried was brilliant on the mound going 6 1/3 innings and holding a very solid hitting Diego Bishop team averaging 12 runs per game coming into the contest and holding them to only 3 runs.  The defense played outstanding behind Jeremy including Declan Dill throwing out a runner from left field going home in the 1st inning.  Zane Hankin came up with a big catch in right-field and throwing a strike to home in the top of the 6th keeping the potential go ahead run at 3rd.  Meanwhile the offense scored 3 runs off the Bishop Diego’s big hard throwing starter, who had only given up a total of 3 runs this year and last year combined. The offense accumulated a total of 10 hits in the game, including Ben Smith’s big lead-off base hit to start the bottom of the 8th. Jeremy Fried then came up with the bases loaded and laced a shot into Right Center for the walk-off.
