The Roadrunners had a chance to take on Willows for a rematch (losing their first game by a heartbreaking three points). This second time around, Crossroads was determined to tighten up their offensive game and rebound better. “The team looked great,” said Coach Barahona, “they moved the ball well… rebounded well and played exceptional defense.” Willows still was a challenging opponent and both squad battled to the end of regulation play which ended in a 21-21 stalemate. For the second time this season, Team Red engaged in an overtime showdown. After a scoreless OT, the entered a second overtime where Emily Stutsman once again shouldered the pressure and sunk a huge game winning three-pointer to put her team on top 24-21! Zoe Pham led the scoring with 7 points while Emily and Imonie chipped in with 6 apiece. Layla Khero contributed with 3 points while Sydney Janowitz finished the day with 2. Lyra and Jemma were defensive forces, putting plenty of pressure on the opponents throughout the afternoon. “This was a fun, exciting and gritty team win,” said Coach Johana.
