Crossroads Well-Represented in Individual Tournament
The Roadrunners were well-represented in their Singles and Doubles League Tournaments at UCLA Sycamore Courts last Friday. Reilly Weg started things off with a 6-2 win at #2 singles which moved her into the quarterfinals. She lost a hard-fought battle against the would-be winner (6-3) ending her strong season. Emily Stutsman faced the would-be league runner-up in her battle at #1 singles (6-1), putting up a good fight and leaving head held high. Crossroads’ #1 singles team of Valerie ward and Madeleine Kayne put up a good fight in their quarterfinals match against Windward but came up short (6-3). Gaby Shiao and London Mandel advanced on to the quarterfinals after beating their first opponents, Geffen #2 team (6-1). They fell to Geffen’s top team in a close tiebreaker quarterfinal match (7-5). It was a great season with incredible individual growth by each and every Crossroads player.
