Team White Loses Against a Tough Competitor

Wednesday proved to be a challenging day for the sixth grade flag football team who faced a tough Calvary Christian squad.  Going into halftime, the Roadrunners were down 34-0. Coach Cooper Bergdahl told his players “to just go out and have fun.” For the remainder of the game, they did just that. Crossroads played the second half much more relaxed, holding Calvary’s high-powered offense to only one touchdown while scoring a touchdown of their own. Tanner Trives and Alfred Bloomingdale led a long drive down the field. Vahe Kassabian, Jake Aronson and Hawkie Idelson contributed to the drive as well, which was capped by a touchdown by Tanner. Blake Markman made some great plays defensively along with teammate John-Henry Decard. Arya Fakki tipped a pass in the second half that resulted in an interception by Vahe, which in turn led to the team’s touchdown drive. “The boys battled and most importantly they had fun and played as a team in the second half,” said Coach Cooper who was proud of his team’s overall growth and improvement throughout the season.
