Coach Dylan Schapiro said the following of Team White’s game against Westside Neighborhood school which he described as an extremely tactical and low scoring battle:
“The Roadrunners brought a lot of energy behind John-Henry Ducard’s competitive spirit. Tanner Trives set the pace for the Roadrunners returning a kick off for a touchdown and nearly returning an interception for another score. Alfred Bloomingdale got the ball moving consistently on offense, paced by star running back Vahe Kassabian. Hawkie Idelson got in on the action with multiple catches in what was one of the best receiving outings of the season. The physical play from the offensive line stood out as Barron Linnekens and Jaiden Gohill had numerous "pancake" blocks as they like to call it. The defense was stout. With Jake Aronson and Arya Fakki flying all over the place, and pulling flags left and right. Zack Kennedy-Bailey and Emilio Diez Barroso recorded a numerous amount of sacks that were momentum killers and spirit boosters for the team. Grant Fahey and Saurin Batra locked down the corner positions preventing any real big gains through the air. Finally, the linebackers were the glue for the defense on Tuesday, as Blake Markman, Jayson Sackler and Yadel Fassika came up clutch with a numerous amount of 4th down stops. All in all, the game came down to one play that could've gone either way, and I'm extremely proud of these young men for constantly competing and striding to improve.”
