• Crossroads
Thanks to generations of donors, Crossroads has been able to flourish and grow into one of the premier college preparatory schools in the nation. All that our students enjoy today is made possible by the vision and generosity of parents, alumni, grandparents, parents of alumni, friends, and faculty and staff who believe an investment in our School is a worthy commitment. As a not-for-profit organization, philanthropic support allows Crossroads to attract and retain outstanding teachers, to make it accessible to a diverse student population, to build new facilities and renovate existing ones, and, most importantly, to enrich the educational experiences of our students.

Areas of Support

The Board of Trustees has endorsed a comprehensive fundraising program. Each family enrolled at the school is counted on to participate in the Annual Fund at the beginning of the school year. In addition, we ask for support for our K-12 Parent Association Event during the spring. Levels of participation are an indication to the greater community that parents are willing to invest in our students’ future and support the School’s mission.

  • The Annual Fund

Every family is asked to make a gift to the Annual Fund at the beginning of each school year. We encourage you to make a meaningful gift that is commensurate with your family’s financial ability. Gifts of any amount are welcome, and every gift matters.

Tuition alone does not cover the full cost of educating a student at Crossroads. Tuition plus a strong Annual Fund enable the School to meet the immediate costs of broad and rich curricular choices that helps each child find their passion. Support also allows Crossroads to achieve a socio-economically diverse student population, while also attracting and retaining the best and most-talented faculty and staff. Tuition only covers something less than 89% of our operating budget. The Annual Fund at Crossroads is designed to make up for the 11% difference.

In addition to asking for 100% tax-deductible gifts from parents, the Crossroads community of alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents and friends are also asked to participate in the Annual Fund.
  • The K-12 Parent Association Fundraiser

Our only K -12 Parent Association Fundraiser for the 2016-17 school year will be XRDSARTS2017: The Art of the Doodle, taking place on Saturday, May 6 at the Skirball Cultural Center. This adults-only evening will include fabulous drinks and dining, entertainment and a silent auction of doodles created by well-known personalities from all walks of life. Previously held in 2003 and 2011, the Art of the Doodle is back by popular demand! Proceeds directly support our Financial Aid Fund. Over the past 23 years, the K-12 Parent Association has raised more than $8 million through its spring fundraising events and its extraordinary volunteer commitment. Thank you for your support.
  • Financial Aid

One of Crossroads five principles is to develop a strong and diverse community of students and teachers. In order to ensure economic diversity while attracting talented students, we need a strong financial aid program that makes a Crossroads education possible for students who would otherwise be unable to attend.

Gifts to Financial Aid are an affirmation that our founding values of diversity, inclusion and commitment to community remain with current and future generations of students.
  • Capital Giving

Crossroads’ ongoing major gifts effort enhances—and often transforms—our programs and facilities. Periodically, when we have an initiative requiring significant funding, we mount a campaign. Leadership gifts provide support for major campus development as well as the endowment.
  • Gift Planning

The Robert Frost Legacy Society honors those who have included Crossroads School in their wills, trusts or life insurance. There are a wide variety of planned giving options that allow you to generously support Crossroads School while improving your own financial and tax situation. Click here to learn more.

An Ode to Providing a Brave and Bold Educational Experience

by Jeff Goodman, Communications Manager

On this blue and green sphere we are spinning
And we’re far from the school year’s beginning
But at Crossroads there’s glee
To the umpteenth degree
For the support that keeps children grinning!

Although “Happy New Year!” is belated
There’s reason to remain elated
With ’17 now proceeding
(And a tax incentive will be activated.)

Of our donors we’re wondrously fond
For the learning and love that you’ve spawned
From the gym to the Alley
From first day to finale
For 45 years and beyond!

And the story is still being told
Of how Crossroads promotes brave and bold
In science and art
In mind and in heart
So give now and watch it unfold!
