Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner Lose To Windward

Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner could not keep up with Windward 10-5 on Friday at Mar Vista Recreation Center.

Windward jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after #1 tripled, scoring one run, #2 singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and #10 singled, scoring two runs.

#1 earned the win for Windward. The starter allowed five hits and five runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking four. Gunther took the loss for Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner. The left-handed pitcher went six innings, allowing 10 runs (four earned) on nine hits, striking out four and walking three.

Yi and Womack each collected two hits for Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner. Yi led Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Cavell stole three bases. Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game.

#2 drove the middle of the lineup, leading Windward with three runs batted in. The catcher went 3-for-4 on the day. #2 and #10 each collected three hits for Windward. #4 collected two hits for Windward in three at bats. #10 and #1 each stole multiple bases for Windward. Windward stole seven bases in the game.
