Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner Win In Fashion, Walk It Off Versus Archer School for Girls

Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner took Thursday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 22-20 walk-off victory over Archer School for Girls at Clover Park. Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner were down 20-19 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Gunther singled, scoring three runs.

Yi homered in the fourth and fourth innings. Yi hit two home runs in the victory.

Archer School for Girls jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Schwartz scored after tagging up, an error scored two runs, Haro singled, scoring one run, and Bratman singled, scoring one run.

Archer School for Girls added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Spiniwan homered to center field, and H-V grounded out, each scoring one run.

Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning. An error scored two runs, Wilson induced Dilullio to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored, Siegmann grounded out, scoring one run, and Amezaga grounded out, scoring one run.

Archer School for Girls took the lead in the top of the fourth. H-V doubled, scoring one run, to give Archer School for Girls the leg up, 8-7.

Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring eight runs on seven hits to take the lead, 15-8. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Gidada that drove in two.

Archer School for Girls flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring eight runs on three hits to take the lead, 16-15. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Spiniwan that drove in two.

Kerner Wolfowitz homered to right field, which helped Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner tie the game at 16 in the bottom of the fifth.

An error gave Archer School for Girls the lead, 17-16, in the top of the sixth.

Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner captured the lead, 19-17, in the bottom of the sixth when Womack drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs.

Archer School for Girls jumped back into the lead in the top of the seventh inning after Spiniwan doubled to center field, Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner committed an error, and Penaloza walked, each scoring one run.

Gunther earned the win for Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner. The starter surrendered nine hits and 20 runs (five earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking 15. Wilson took the loss for Archer School for Girls. The starter went six and two-thirds innings, giving up 22 runs (12 earned) on 12 hits, striking out 10 and walking 11.

Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner tallied 12 hits in the game. Gidada drove the middle of the lineup, leading Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner with five runs batted in.
