Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner Defeats Trinity Classical Academy On Back Of Clutch Display From Cavell

Cavell drove in four runs on one hit to lead Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner past Trinity Classical Academy 11-6 on Thursday at Clover Park. In the fourth inning, Cavell hit a grand slam to center field.

Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner opened the scoring in the first after Gidada singled, scoring one run.

Previtire homered to right field, which helped Trinity Classical Academy tie the game at one in the top of the second.

A triple by Womack gave Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the third.

Trinity Classical Academy scored six runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning. Carranza singled, scoring one run, Gunther induced Kua to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Aguila singled, scoring one run, and Harrison homered to left field, scoring three runs.

Gunther earned the win for Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and seven runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking none. Aguila took the loss for Trinity Classical Academy. The hurler went six innings, allowing 11 runs (10 earned) on eight hits, striking out seven and walking nine.

Gidada provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner with five runs batted in. The outfielder went 3-for-4 on the day. Womack collected two hits for Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner in four at bats. Siegmann paced Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Kerner Wolfowitz and Gunther each stole multiple bases for Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner. Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner ran wild on the base paths, amassing 10 stolen bases for the game.

Harrison went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Previtire led Trinity Classical Academy with two hits in four at bats. Trinity Classical Academy turned one double play in the game.
