Yi Drives 4 Runners Home In Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner Victory Over Oakwood

Yi drove in four runs on three hits to lead Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner past Oakwood 13-12 on Tuesday at North Hollywood Recreation Center. In the fourth inning, Yi homered to center field, scoring three runs.

Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner collected 10 hits and Oakwood had 11 in the high-scoring affair.

Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner got on the board in the top of the first inning after Yi scored after tagging up, and Womack singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner added one run in the third. Womack grounded out, making the score 3-0.

Oakwood flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 5-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Barn that drove in three.

Oakwood tied the game up in the bottom of the fourth thanks to two doubles. Oakwood tied the game at seven on a double by Lima.

Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 12-7. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two.

Oakwood tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a triple by Lima, a triple by Juda, and an error.

Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner took the lead in the top of the seventh. Kerner Wolfowitz lined out, scoring one run, to give Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner the upper hand, 13-12.

Gunther earned the win for Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner. The hurler surrendered 11 hits and 12 runs (six earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking six. Lima took the loss for Oakwood. The pitcher went seven innings, surrendering 13 runs (seven earned) on 10 hits, striking out six and walking five.
