Big Third Inning Leads Windward Past Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner

Windward scored five runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner 8-0 on Thursday at Clover Park.

Windward scored five runs on two hits in the top of the third inning. #5 singled, scoring one run, #2 singled, scoring two runs, #22 grounded out, scoring one run, and #19 grounded out, scoring one run.
#1 earned the win for Windward. The pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking none. Gunther took the loss for Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner. The southpaw went seven innings, giving up eight runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out six and walking two.
Womack led Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner with one hit in three at bats.
#2 drove the middle of the lineup, leading Windward with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. #2, #5, #1, and #14 each collected one hit for Windward. #10 and #1 each stole multiple bases for Windward. Windward ran wild on the base paths, piling up eight stolen bases for the game.
Crossroads Varsity Roadrunner will travel to Windward for their next game on Friday.
