St. Paul faced a tough shooter in Lila Michael who had two solid goals that she volleyed off of a bounce to quickly set the pace of the game. “This really helped to amp up our confidence and fire,” explained Coach DeCraene. Kate cut moves past several players to put one in the back of the net while Mira Hill took a bold shot to score the team’s fifth goal. Maggie di Rienzo had an outstanding game in goal making incredible saves left and right while the defensive line (Avery Wilson, Hope Hamilton, Azalia Martinez-Cruz, Andrea Prieto and Jordan Prough) proved themselves to be incredible in both games, marking players, shutting down offensive runs, anticipating through balls and communicating clearly. Isabella DiLeo and Riley Weg executed fantastic ball control and worked to attach and distribute, keeping the other teams on their toes. Ayla Croshere, Honorah Hamilton and London Mandel jumped in to make good tackles and continued to help the team attack the goal. “We are so proud of the girls incredible accomplishments this season,” concluded Coach Leanne, “they made great improvements and came together as a team….We are excited for next week!”
