Summer at Crossroads

Grades 1-5

This summer, the Elementary School program is offering fun-filled, full-day opportunities, from summer camp-type activities to sports to musical theater to aquatics. There’s something for every child. See below for more details.

We also offer early care from 8-9 a.m. and aftercare from 3-5:30 p.m. with all programs.

Our Summer at Crossroads programs are offered
from Tuesday, June 21–Friday, July 29, 2022.

Hang Out (Grades 1-5)

June 21-July 15, 2022
Our Summer Hang Out for students entering grades 1-5 is an all-day, fun-filled program designed to offer a variety of indoor and outdoor play! During this four-week program, children participate in activities such as arts and crafts, building and engineering, theme days, hands-on science, swim and outdoor play. In addition, you can choose between math and literacy for students who would like some light academics mixed into their summer fun or Rise & Splash Swim for students who want to enhance their aquatics skills.

Musical Theater (Grades 2-5)

June 21-July 15, 2022
Musical Theater Company is back this summer! Students act, sing and dance, in preparation for live performances with a live audience. This four-week program will include organized outdoor play and camp theme-day activities as well as swimming! The show this summer is “The Lion King.”

Sports Camps (Grades 1-5)

July 18-22 & July 25-29, 2022
Our one-week sports camps allow students to explore different sports and invent some of their own! Children learn the core values of playing fair, being respectful and accepting the outcome of each game.

Aquatics

In our four-week Rise & Splash Swim program, children have an hour of small group swim lessons tailored to their individual abilities. They become more aware of their body movement within the water, gain overall cardiovascular conditioning and strength while fostering a love for the sport. In addition to the lessons, there are supervised active play which allow for learning through guided exploration; furthermore, they are led through pertinent land stretches and exercises that help increase their range of motion, decrease the chances for injury and further educate them to the appropriate muscle groups involved in swimming.

In our one-week swim camps, children are provided the opportunity to learn and enhance their aquatics skills through stroke clinics offered by our swim coaches and instructors. Each session includes aquatic games and activities to further foster a love for aquatics.

Children who would like to get introduced to competitive swimming can join our Novice Swim Team that meets three days per week, for four weeks.

Does your child need to learn how to swim? No problem! We also offer Saturday swim lessons during Spring, Summer and Fall.
