Before and After Care Program

Hang Out is an after school program that is designed to meet the different needs of Crossroads children and their families. The program has several components-early morning care, daily and "drop in" after school care and enrichment classes.  All of the children who participate in the Hang Out program receive a hearty snack and children grades 3-5 attend study hall.

Early morning child care begins at 7.30 a.m. every school day.  There are no fees for early morning care.  The afternoon program runs from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily on school days and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on most pupil-free days.

  • Daily Care: After school care, Hang out includes outside play and a wonderful variety of choices including creative art activities, imaginative play possibilities, building opportunities, and fun games and puzzles.  Students can be enrolled in  daily care for one to five days a week, or may "drop-in" on an as needed basis.
  • Enrichment Program: Three sessions of enrichment classes are offered throughout the year. Examples of the wide array of class offerings are: art, ceramics, woodworking, song writing, string orchestra, jazz, dance, Capoeira, puppet theater, animal adventures, Chinese, cooking, chess, sports, fencing and golf.  Classes meet on a weekly basis.  Course and material fees vary by class and session.
