Moving Up, Graduation Ceremonies Mark Milestones

Crossroads honors student achievements at end-of-year events.
Mood-setting music, heartfelt speeches and at least a few teary eyes punctuated a month of reflection and rejoicing at Crossroads as students completed graduation exercises in each School division.

Seniors bid farewell to the Upper School in a commencement ceremony on the Norton Campus field June 1, and fifth- and eighth-grade students enjoyed Moving Up events on June 12 and June 13, respectively.

At the Class of 2017 commencement, Head of School Bob Riddle detailed the outgoing students’ accomplishments and retiring history teacher Tom Laichas delivered the keynote address.

Students spoke eloquently about past challenges, future hopes and many elements of their Crossroads experience.

“The School is trying to help us find who we are, and all we have to do is keep an open mind,” eighth-grade graduate Zoe Rehnborg said during her speech in Grisanti Gym. “Crossroads taught me that I didn’t have to completely assimilate myself to some clique or stereotype and that I could be an individual.”
