Meet the New Associate Head of School

Mariama Richards talks with Head of School Bob Riddle about her career and plans for her new role.
Crossroads welcomed Mariama Richards as our new associate head of school in July, and she has already proved to be a tremendous asset to the administrative team. In just two months, she has helped develop the School’s reentry plans and greatly contributed to our ongoing work to be a more inclusive and welcoming community, among numerous other efforts.

Mariama comes to Crossroads with more than 20 years of experience as an educator. She was most recently the assistant head of school for academic program at Friends’ Central School just outside Philadelphia. Throughout her career, Mariama has demonstrated her strengths in curriculum development, faculty evaluation and conceiving and executing major equity initiatives. She holds a master’s degree in Africana studies from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree in history from Spelman College.

Head of School Bob Riddle and Mariama recently recorded themselves together discussing her impressive career in education and the positive changes she’d like to make at Crossroads, as well her hobbies and interests. Click here to watch their conversation.
