K-12 Priority Wait Pool FAQs

List of 6 frequently asked questions.

  • How many applicants are in the Priority Wait Pool?

Students in the Priority Wait Pool stood out from other applicants as outstanding matches with Crossroads. This is a small group of applicants. Applicants in the Priority Wait Pool will be considered first if a space were to become available. We anticipate applicants coming off of the Priority Wait Pool during the week after decision notifications and BEFORE the enrollment response deadlines (March 19 for Grades 9-12 and March 25 for Grades K-8). We will, however, keep the Priority Wait Pool active through Sept. 5, 2019.
  • Is the Priority Wait Pool ranked?

No. The Priority Wait Pool is an unranked group of applicants. Should an opening become available in your grade, we will reassess the makeup of the grade and find an applicant who best fills the opening.
  • How long will the wait be?

We anticipate movement the first week after admissions decisions are released. However, because openings do not all come at the same time, you can choose to remain in the Priority Wait Pool for as long as you would like (until Sept. 5, 2019) and can indicate the length of time in our Priority Wait Pool in the Google Doc link provided in your decision letter.
  • How will you notify us if our child is accepted from the Priority Wait Pool?

We will call you immediately using the main phone number listed in your application. If we are unable to reach you at this number, we will try other numbers that are listed. We will not release the spot to another child unless all attempts to reach you by phone and email are unsuccessful.
  • Should I call Crossroads to check on our Priority Wait Pool status?

Please be assured that you will remain in our Priority Wait Pool for as long as you indicate in your response. Once you have let us know that you would like to remain in the Priority Wait Pool, we understand that you would take a spot should one come available. It is critical to let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in remaining in the Priority Wait Pool via the Google Doc form in your Ravenna notification.
  • What do we do if we choose to enroll at another school?

Please let us know as soon as you can if you enroll your child in another school. Please notify us using the Google Form included in your Ravenna notification, or via email or phone. For Elementary applicants use elementaryadmissions@xrds.org, for Middle School applicants use msadmissions@xrds.org and for Upper School applicants use usadmissions@xrds.org.
