  • About the Workshop

In honor of our 50th anniversary, Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences is hosting a two-day Council Training, Level 1 workshop for members of our community who are leaders within a professional setting, including the corporate world, education, nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations or other group settings.

Crossroads has been facilitating Council with our students, parents, employees and alumni since 1982, making ours the longest continuous school-based program. Numerous Crossroads alumni have brought the practice to their homes and businesses, and we want to support more people in their efforts to share the practice through this training.

Council is a unique method of discourse that can inspire a healthier organizational culture; enhance communication; improve cohesion within teams; mitigate stress among individuals; and help to achieve more resilience and creativity across all levels of an organization.

Facilitated by members of Crossroads’ Life Skills Department, this workshop will open with remarks from Evan Spiegel ’08, CEO and co-founder of Snap Inc., who will share his story of bringing Council to Snap from the organization’s beginning. Participants will then explore the Council process to understand the basic elements and forms of the practice. They will leave ready to begin facilitating Councils within their professional environment.
