Applicants who are applying to the Elizabeth Mandell Music Institute (EMMI) must complete recorded and live auditions in addition to completing the regular admission application process. The auditions along with the admission application determine if applicants are invited to enroll in Crossroads’ pre-college classical music conservatory program. All EMMI applicants need to complete the following audition steps:
Submit Prescreening Email and Video Please email Grace Park, Director of K-12 Strings and Director of EMMI, with a URL link to your audition video (YouTube, etc.), as well as this information below. Successful applicants will be invited to Crossroads to participate in a live audition for the EMMI Faculty.
Email: Please include student name, age, grade, current school, current private teacher name, email address and phone number. Also include parent name with address, email address and phone number.
URL link to Video: Please submit one or more solo pieces of your choice that demonstrates both fast/technical playing as well as slow/lyrical playing. A movement or movements of a sonata or concerto are accepted. Recording without an accompanist is accepted.
Participate in a Live Audition Applicants who have successfully completed the prescreening audition process will be invited to the Crossroads campus to complete a live audition for EMMI faculty. Auditions are offered on select Tuesday afternoons. Applicants will play or participate in:

Informal sight reading and ear training assessment with EMMI faculty
EMMI alumni have consistently gone on to perform in some of the finest professional symphony orchestras in the world. In addition, they have assumed leadership roles in opera companies, professional societies and in teaching.
