The group of parents and educators who founded Crossroads School in 1971 shared a vision, boundless enthusiasm and sheer determination.

Looking for a space to house grades seven through twelve, the School’s founders rented two classrooms in the First Baptist Church on Pico Blvd. Unlike many independent schools, Crossroads was not gifted its campus and the School had no endowment. Gradually, a hodge-podge of industrial buildings was rented on 21st Street, the site of our current Middle and Upper School campus. To date, much progress has been made to secure the School’s future by building its endowment and purchasing the real estate that constitutes the entire K-12 school.

In order to create and maintain excellence in the diversity of our educational programs and student population, to develop the campuses, to address construction needs, and to increase the endowment, the Board of Trustees has adopted a fundraising program that reaches out to current Crossroads families, grandparents and special friends, alumni and parents of alums, faculty and administrators. While at Crossroads, we ask that parents make the School a philanthropic priority.
