For parents, finding the right school in which your child can flourish is one of the most important decisions you will make. At Crossroads, you will find a school founded 40 years ago by a small group of educators and parents searching for new and innovative approaches to educating the whole child. With its rich programs in academics, the arts, athletics, human development, and outdoor education, Crossroads pioneered the concept of an “education in balance” and today distinguishes itself from other independent schools as a home for passionate ideas and personal expression.
At Crossroads, a genuine, thought-provoking, college preparatory education joins the life of the mind with the joy of spirit. Visit our school and you will see this philosophy come to life in the faces of our students as they debate critical issues in history class, master Latin translations, or puzzle the mysteries of science. You will see it in the creative expression in our dance studios, multimedia labs, or drama and music classrooms, and you will see it in the physical expression displayed by students through athletics and physical and outdoor education. You will see it in the way that students care for others through their community service projects, and the ways in which they care for each other through their Life Skills classes. And you will most certainly see it in the life of the Alley, where a truly diverse community of students and teachers gathers together for lunch, music and conversation.
I began my own journey at Crossroads more than 30 years ago as a teacher, and today, I am proud to be able to continue the incredible legacy of the founders—many of whom were my mentors in those early days—as Head of School.
I hope you will visit our school and learn more about our programs. I am confident you will find Crossroads a place with a rich legacy of innovation and where an education in balance thrives. We look forward to showing you our school.
