Girls Volleyball Team Makes Crossroads History

Roadrunners advance to the State Regional Quarterfinals.
The varsity girls volleyball team has had an astounding season that has earned them a spot in the State Regional Quarterfinals. On Nov. 11, they defeated Woodcrest Christian to win the CIF Division 6 Championships, triumphantly finishing their CIF playoffs with a perfect 15-0 set record. At Wednesday night’s first State Regionals Championship Playoff, they beat Westview High School 3-0.

On Saturday, Nov. 18, the team faces off against Culver City High School for the chance to advance to the semifinals. It is the first time in Crossroads history that a girls volleyball team has made it this far! We invite everyone to come cheer on our Roadrunners in the Regionals Playoff on Saturday night.

Wednesday’s matchup against Westview was a testament to the talent of this team. Olympia Nagel-Caland was on fire with a .58 hitting percentage that included 14 kills and no errors at the net. Tyler Fields led the defensive charge with 10 digs, helped out immensely by Harper Graves’ defensive passes not to mention 11 kills. Kate Whitney-Schubb and Lena Tatum delivered mind-blowing aces to the opponent while setter Grace Rose once again ran the court with her skilled delivery of 28 assists. Shannon Munn, Madison Quan, Ivy Bragin and Arden Misraje helped seal the victory for the Roadrunners by coming into the game with some big plays. Go Roadrunners!
