Students Present at Ninth Annual Literature &… Conference

Upper Schoolers give readings, participate in panel discussions.
Crossroads students presented papers at the Archer School for Girls’ ninth annual Literature &… Conference, held on Feb. 25. The student participants were Noah Kennedy ’17, Ezra Levy ’17, Nina Mortenson ’15, Bella Porter ’15 and Emma Spivack ’17. In groups and individually, the students presented on topics in literature pertaining to the deconstruction of “normal”; the acquisition, loss or claiming of power; and reading through a psychoanalytic lens, a panel moderated by Crossroads Upper School English Chair Rika Drea.

“The day at Archer was a resounding, inspiring success for Crossroads students,” reports Rika. “Their creative and analytical pieces showcased their thoughtful approaches to literature and life, and their comments in the panel discussions resonated with humanity and heart.”

Archers annual Literature &… Conference brings students around Los Angeles together and to their passion for literature in an environment that is joyful and intellectually rigorous. Students whose papers make it through the competitive submission review process are challenged to create a cross-disciplinary presentation, merging literary content with work based on other areas of interest.
