Model United Nations Club Attends Conference

Students take home top awards for their work.
On February 21, 13 members of Crossroads’ Model United Nations Club attended the Laguna Hills High School Model U.N. conference to represent Argentina and Norway, gaining an understanding of how international debates and negotiation take place. Model United Nations is “an authentic simulation of the UN General Assembly, UN Security Council, or other multilateral body, which introduces students to the world of diplomacy, negotiation and decision making.”

Students spoke on behalf of their chosen delegations and developed their skills in communication, conflict resolution, research, cooperation, decision-making and teamwork. Jared Press ’18 was one of six Crossroads students to earn awards at the conference. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet and connect with students from all over California,” he says. “Some of the world’s most pressing issues were thoroughly discussed and resolutions were made.”
