Roadrunners Compete in 13th Annual Sports Extravaganza

Cup goes to Brentwood after close competition.
Crossroads student-athletes put on an impressive display of sportsmanship at the 13th Annual Sports Extravaganza on Jan. 9. Although Brentwood ultimately won the Extravaganza cup (which Crossroads had held for the past two years), the Crossroads community was out in full force supporting the Upper School varsity and junior varsity soccer and basketball teams. Students began every game with the singing of the national anthem. The gym was alive with the vibrant tunes of Crossroads musicians, and dancers provided half-time entertainment. Throughout the competition, student-athletes from both schools put on an exciting show.

The night began with the boys junior varsity teams, both of which ended in a tie by the end of regulation play. Soccer ended in a 2-2 draw while the basketball game went to Brentwood in overtime. The girls varsity teams also engaged in extremely close competitions. Although Crossroads lost both of those games, the fans gave a well-deserved standing ovation to the Roadrunners as they headed to the locker rooms.

The night concluded with the boys varsity teams. Once again, the games were dynamic and close, but Crossroads pulled off two stunning wins, sending fans flooding onto the field and gym floor.
