Senior Wins First Place in Juried Ceramics Show

The artwork of senior Phoebe Staff won first place in juried show at the American Museum of Ceramic Art.
Senior Phoebe Staff’s untitled ceramic piece won first place, or best in show, at the American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona’s, “Emerging Artists: High School Show.” The piece is shaped like a vase and covered in colorful dots.

Two other students also had their work accepted into the juried show: sophomore Eloise Gibbin and junior Zane Kaufmann. Eloise’s piece is a coral-like structure featuring dark maroon, purple and turquoise colors; Zane’s piece is the bust of a man that uses very bold black and red coloring.

“Emerging Artists” is currently on display at the American Museum of Ceramic Art and will be up until June 1. For more information, go here
