Educational Programs

Athletics

As stated in our philosophy, Crossroads is committed to “the development of each student’s physical well-being and full human potential.” From grades five to 12, the Athletics program inspires students to pursue competitive team sports, furthering friendships, building character on and off the field and promoting school and individual pride. For those who participate in interscholastic athletics, the experience is as much a part of their education as any other subject in school. The athletics venues are classrooms of another name, where outstanding educators called coaches guide student-athletes to a greater understanding of themselves, their peers and their chosen sport.

Elementary School

The development of an active body is as important as the development of an active mind. The Elementary School’s after-school Athletics program begins in fifth grade and emphasizes safety, fair play, participation, self-confidence, skill development and fun. Players practice together and play games against other schools.

Middle School

Crossroads' Middle School Athletics program provides student-athletes the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of after-school sports programs while maintaining a high level of competition. Crossroads fields over 25 teams in 13 sports and is a proud member of the Pacific Basin and Delphic Leagues. Our comprehensive Athletics programs are led by seasoned coaches who teach fundamental skills, strength and conditioning, in addition to sport-specific strategy. The Athletics Department strives to create an environment where students can develop their athletic talents, learn new skills, display good sportsmanship, become better cooperative learners and, most importantly, have fun.

Hall of Fame
When Crossroads athletics began in 1973, only two sports were offered: basketball and flag football. Through the years, the program continued to develop and contribute to the life of the School.

The Hall of Fame recognizes the individuals and teams who have made significant contributions to the athletics program and who serve as examples of the Roadrunner spirit. It was launched in 2014 and is held every three years.
