IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO FIND a school anywhere with parents as involved, talented, and giving as those at Crossroads School. Every parent is automatically a member of the Parent Association. The close working relationship of administration and faculty with the Parent Association is a unique strength that unites students, parents, and the school in a bond that enhances all three.

THE PURPOSE OF THE PARENT ASSOCIATION is to provide the school community with a supportive and inclusive organization that creates and coordinates events, programs, and activities. Some highlights of the school year are the Welcome Back to School "Alley Party," grade-level potlucks, parent education evenings, Headmaster Coffees, and Friends of Art, Music, Dance, Drama, and Athletics. The Parent Education Committee strives to present timely topics which address parent concerns for specific age groups. Often, these include presentations by guest speakers who are experts in their fields. For example, teenage peer pressure, friendships and intimacy were addressed for the Upper School parents, while parenting questions and answers were handled by an expert for the Elementary School. Parent activities also include support of community service functions, a Community Dialogue on Social Justice, and an annual spring fundraiser. These events and programs are made possible by the voluntary efforts of hundreds of parents and are attended by students and their families throughout the year.

THE PARENT ASSOCIATION INVITES parents to become involved in an open and connected community that embodies the philosophy of Crossroads School. There are many opportunities for parents to be engaged in the life of the school, and all parents are encouraged to participate in ways that correspond to their interests and that are in concert with the needs and goals of the school. Communication and collaboration are highly valued traditions at Crossroads School.

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE PARENT ASSOCIATION is directly proportionate to the involvement of every parent. Each family has a place in the community, and in great measure, Crossroads has grown and flourished because of the vision, leadership, and commitment of its parents.
