ENVIRONMENTAL
OUTDOOR EDUCATION

Care and concern for the ecology of the Earth is an essential component of the Crossroads philosophy. Awareness of the need to take care of our planet begins in kindergarten, where "no waste" lunches are emphasized and where recycling begins in earnest. First grade children walk in Topanga Canyon and learn about how the Chumash respected the Earth. In fourth and fifth grades three and four day camping trips allow children to experience the natural environment with the guidance of trained naturalists.
