Elementary School Admissions
THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL provides a safe and nurturing environment in which each child is recognized for his or her unique attributes. It is a community that connects home and school, and is a place that invites risking and, thus, learning. Every child arrives at the Elementary School exhibiting many talents and skills. It is the school’s responsibility to sustain a child’s already eager investment in learning so that he or she will continue to develop and grow with success, confidence, and joy.

AN INTEGRATED CURRICULUM with social studies concepts as central organizing principles provides the springboard for learning across all disciplines. Specialists offer experiences in art, music, dance, drama, science, physical education, Spanish, library, and computer. They work with homeroom teachers to integrate the learning experience for each child. Service learning and environmental awareness programs encourage children to develop a sense of themselves as responsible citizens of communities outside the school.

PARENTS ARE VALUED PARTNERS in our multi-faceted, diverse community and find many opportunities to participate at the Elementary School with their children. They help staff the library, assist in classrooms, organize classroom service learning, serve hot lunches, and provide an endless array of resources to support the many Elementary School programs.

THE JOYFUL SPIRIT of the Elementary School is strengthened by many traditions such as the Rose Gathering, Halloween Parade, Parent P.E. Days, and a Spring Community Day (Arts Day or May Madness).
